Common Raven

The common raven, also known as the northern raven, is one of nine species of raven, and one of two raven species in the U.S. It is found in the northern hemisphere from western Alaska, east to eastern Siberia. There are at least eight subspecies of the common raven, including two in the western U.S.

They are large, all-black birds, that are similar to, but larger than crows. They are very successful because they have an omnivorous diet that includes food waste, carrion, grains, berries, fruit and small animals.
